Thanks for joining me! I’m excited to share my recipes, cooking tips, and sweet moments with you.
Whether you’re here for the sourdough, the sweets, or the slow days at home, you’re always welcome at The Yellow Cocina. 💛
I’m the face behind The Yellow Cocina where faith, food, family, and a whole lot of yellow come together.
I’m a mama to three sweet girls, wife to my handsome husband, and always reaching for Jesus (and coffee) to get through the day. I’ve been obsessed with the color yellow for as long as I can remember: my engagement ring is yellow, my car is yellow, and honestly, if I could wear yellow every day, I probably would.
I started this blog after years of feeling the nudge. Back in 2020, when I became a mom, I dreamed of starting something creative, but fear held me back. One late night in July 2024, while my husband was away on a trip, I finally found the courage to hit “post” and start sharing my world online..well at least my kitchen.
Here you’ll find cozy recipes (many from scratch), lots of baking (especially desserts), Latin-inspired dishes, American favorites, and a growing library of sourdough love. I have a huge soft spot for cookies and a bigger mission to nourish my family with real, whole foods. After reading about seed oils and food dyes (thanks to my health-conscious husband), I started paying attention to labels and realized how much I wanted to do things differently at home. That meant giving up a lot of convenience, but gaining so much peace of mind. I am here to share all the tips!
I wouldn’t call myself a full-blown crunchy mom, but I do care a lot about what goes into our bodies. I’m all about balanced, feel-good meals, especially ones packed with protein (my friends tease me that I need a shirt that says “Did You Eat Your Protein?”). Around here, food has to taste amazing and fuel us well.
I’m from Bolivia, and one day I hope to share all the traditional dishes I grew up eating. As I learn to recreate those recipes, my biggest hope is that my girls not only learn to love Bolivian food but feel connected to the culture and family behind it. Until then, you can usually find me baking while my girls play outside, jamming to worship music (probably Phil Wickham or Forrest Frank), and dreaming of one day living the homesteader life.
